Jul 21, 2020 · However, Luna X1, although it is a China carbon, is a tank. I already fell twice on this bike, but the frame did not even scratch. Overall, I would recommend X1. Although the Bafang software is POS, I do not think there is any other bike that is more balanced than X1. Even the components, for the most part, makes sense.

The medium size I had ordered was also a bit small for me at 6' 0". A few months ago Luna came out with a quieter reduction gear so I decided to give the X1 another try, this time ordering a large.

Jun 3, 2020 · Luna actually has a longer warranty on the X1, presumably because it's not a Luna product, I believe it's made by Dengfu. I thought the reviewer did a good job as well. I would not say one is a clear winner, I've ridden both bikes, they each have their strengths and weaknesses.

May 16, 2022 · Looks like Luna is starting to make standalone LudiV2 controllers available, at least for Luna X1/X2 customers. Either of the Innotrace or LudiV2 controllers will have the capability for better/faster responsiveness, as they run at higher sampling rates and overall are just better controllers vs the Bafang OE ones.

Jun 19, 2019 · Luna on the other hand seems to be pushing a bike that appears legal to be ridden on authorized trails, but clearly is easily modified to be otherwise (or just buy it souped up from the start). I understand that there's a market for ebikes for "closed-course" or motorized trail use, but this has to be a very tiny portion of the overall market.

Dec 12, 2021 · I thought Luna was shipping these with shorter crank arms, but someone elsewhere with now both an X1 and X2 had griped about the crank arm length on the X2. I couldn't locate my metal rulers immediately and my calipers only got to 150mm, but yeah - sure looks like 170mm crank arms on the X2.

Oct 1, 2019 · Maybe a screw here or there on the controls, but the bike itself is anodized hardware throughout. It is a thing to behold. From the big ol' Yari out front, through to the glossy contrast of the LUNA lettering on the downtube, through to the cool looking circuitboard looking heat sink on the motor, on to the massive discs and 4-piston calipers.
