Nan Qi (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree from the Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2005, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in microelectronics from Tsinghua University, Beijing, in 2008 and 2013, respectively.

Nan Qi or Nan Xi (Chinese: 南溪; born July 25, 1960) is a Chinese artist based in Beijing. He is best known for his "halo dot" paintings which combine traditional Chinese ink painting methodology with modern technology, creating a "Ben-Day" dot effect.

Nan Qi was born in Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province, China in 1960. Unlike most Chinese artists, he was trained as a painter not in an art school but in the army. He graduated from the Chinese painting course at People’s Liberation Army Fine Arts Academy, Beijing.

Nan Qi (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in communications engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), China, in 2011 and 2017, respectively. She is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China.
