PM SHRI Schools provide leadership in their respective regions in providing high-quality education in an equitable, inclusive and joyful school environment. Selection of PM SHRI schools is done through transparent Challenge Method wherein Schools compete for support to become exemplar schools.

PM SHRI Scheme (PM Schools for Rising India) aims to qualitatively strengthen the existing schools and showcase the implementation of National Education Policy, 2020 and make them exemplar schools over a period of time.

The PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme initiated by the Government of India. Its objective is to establish over 14,500 PM SHRI Schools, overseen by the Central Government, State/UT Governments, local bodies, as well as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) .

Aug 26, 2023 · A total of 6,448 schools from 28 states and Union territories have been selected for upgradation under the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM-SHRI) scheme. It is a Centrally Sponsored scheme announced in 2022.

The SQAF will streamline assessment of school environment and produce comprehensive district and state-level reports. Its primary aim is to aid in improvement of educational standards in the PM SHRI schools and create a responsive, supportive and student-centred educational system.

The Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PMSHRI) scheme is an initiative launched by the Government of India to enhance the quality of education in existing schools, transforming them into model institutions that embody the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The PM SHRI schools are being designed to achieve that. These schools will help showcase the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 and emerge as exemplar schools.
