Punch was a long-running 19th and 20th century British magazine known for its humour, satire, and cartoons. (There is a Wikipedia article about this serial.) Punch began publication in 1841. In its early years, it was subtitled "The London Charivari", after a Parisian magazine that it was originally patterned on. It ceased publication in 1992.

Historically, it was most influential in the 1840s and 1850s, when it helped to coin the term "cartoon" in its modern sense as a humorous illustration.
