When Ray Wilson asked him about the new look, Steve just replied that it would make him look more sophisticated for the job, and that people would take him more seriously.

Steve's acting coach was a retired stage actress, Edda Edson, who had performed for many years on Broadway. Edda was in her late sixties or early seventies and only worked with six students at one time at her home. This would allow each student to receive individual attention.

His skin without the goatee has his actual mouth in the same place. The old cover art was mostly cell shaded and didn’t show the details in his skin, but the newer cover art is more detailed and shows his lips.
