Jan 24, 2025 · Evanston’s Twiggs Park has become a gathering place for skateboarders, bikers, and roller skaters alike since its official opening in August of 2024. Located in the northern part of Evanston by Greenbay, the park is consistently busy as the only skatepark in Evanston and the surrounding area.

Based on the input received at the spring 2021 public engagements, the eastern end of Twiggs Park was selected for the permanent skate park. Completed Activities: May 2021 - site selection at Twiggs Park finalized.

Twiggs Park is a beautiful park with a number of features for nature lovers. There's a bike path that crosses through the park, as well as a small pavilion for sitting outside in the shade. A community flower garden is a lovely feature of this park.

Feb 1, 2024 · Adjacent to the Skokie Canal and some of Evanston’s community garden plots is Twiggs Park. The park has a basketball court and two separate playgrounds with slides and swing sets. There is also a covered picnic area with tables.

Mar 14, 2023 · Evanston skateboard enthusiasts will be getting a dedicated skate park by the end of this year, as Evanston City Council members on March 13 approved a $1.757 million contract with a Minooka, Illinois, firm to construct a facility at the eastern end of Twiggs Park.

Oct 31, 2024 · Residents can provide input for replacement playground equipment at Twiggs Park until November 15. Suggestions include playground equipment for all ages.
