
YZ125 and YZ250 Compression Testing - Vital MX
Sep 14, 2006 · I'm looking for the "safe psi range" for both the 2012 YZ125 and 2012 YZ250 compression. I'd like to base my rebuilds on how the compression reads if that's a smart thing to do. Any info/insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

May 25, 2022 · Not sure if the YZ125 jet sizes are relevant if they have changed, as there was some exhaust valve mods if I remember reading that correctly? The intake boot is the same too. Parts fiche shows a different part number but when received, it's identical with a patching part number in the mold.

Oct 31, 2015 · If so, go for the YZ250. Because racing a 125 against a bunch of 250F's will have you kicking yourself in the ass looking for more power. Also, if you ride a 125 all the time as your only bike for practicing and racing be prepared to become an expert at top ends and clutches because you will be replacing them frequently.

Aug 16, 2006 · YZ125 and YZ250 clamps have been 25mm consistently as far as I know. If you are going to use clamps from YZ450f's and YZ250f's, keep in mind that there are different offsets of either 22mm or 25mm that change on different model years of the 250F and the 450f.
