Established in 1907, the Aurora Police Department is responsible for providing law enforcement services to a growing, urban/suburban community with unique and ever-changing needs.

Police services such as records, front desk crime reporting (crimes without suspect information for example), and police property are available at Police Headquarters. The lobby is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Aurora Police Online Reporting System allows you to file a non-emergency police report in cases where there is no suspect information, such as a vehicle break-in that happened overnight. Below are the options available for online crime reporting:

The Aurora Police Department Major Crime Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s help with information about a cold homicide investigation that occurred in 2020 at an apartment complex in central Aurora.

Chris Juul is the deputy chief of the Aurora Police Department, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the entire organization. He was selected as the permanent deputy chief in late 2024.
