Watching the choreography, it’s pretty clear Ikuhara had something other than a kaleidoscope in mind for a weapon. If we hadn’t had Utena and Ikuhara had full freedom, even more than in S, SuperS could’ve been absolutely stunning.

She also has posted some Sailor Moon stuff before and apparently from the DVD Event (look at Moonchase) she said that when her daughter was young, they used to watch Sailor Moon together.
