Oct 15, 2019 · Great line. Reasonably priced. My go to braid for #80 and under set-ups. I like the #80 Pro spec braid which covers leaders #30-#60, maybe 20 and 25 too... I haven't used #80 leader with it but I'm sure it can handle it in a breeze. Cast-ability, it casts well with the flyline and surface iron on #40 top shot.

Dec 29, 2023 · I have a star drag w/ 50ln braid backing to 100 yds 25lb mono, to floro leader. I like the idea of having the added stretch of mono on a light set up. My problem is, the mono literally jumps off of the reel making it hard to manage in free-spool. I also have a Fathom 15 2 speed w/ 50 lb braid directly to floro.

Chunking or sinker rig, I might run 80lb braid, to 20 yards of 100 mono, to a 330lb spro swivel, to 6ft of preferred flouro size. Popper rod is 65 braid to about 8ft of 100 mono.

May 17, 2017 · For me i like the thicker braid for casting and flexibility in the lines i can fish. Thicker braid casts much easier on the conventional reel, good luck picking out a backlash in 20lb spectra! Also having heavier braid like 50-65 makes it so i can fish from 25-50lb top shots on the reel. Another benefit of braid is its ability to cut through kelp.
