Dec 4, 2024 · The Onkyo seems to be between the Denon 4311CI and Marantz SR6008 in how it sounds. Perhaps the warmer or more comfortable side of neutral, but neutral. Stereo imaging is a touch better, too.

Aug 14, 2010 · This preamp is ONKYO pro, but you still can not turn off dialog norm. If there was a small unit that would remove the Dialnorm metadata from the bitstream, I would buy it. I have been watching it closely - and the dialog norm message with its short dropout happens just a few seconds after locking in to the audio.

Oct 5, 2022 · The Onkyo sounds great and if properly set up will run you out of the room with my Aperion Grand Versus 7.2.4 system I am using 2 Adcom amplifiers so I have 5 speakers with external amplification. I feel this unit sounds light years better than the Marantz it replaced.

Mar 2, 2018 · Onkyo TX-RZ820 input instability Hi, Have an Onkyo TX-RZ820 for some months. Love it, but one catch: it sometimes spontaneously switches the input to PC with volume 25. Seems like a kind of 'input reset'. I don't use the HMDI inputs/outputs. Only S/PDIF from two sources for audio.

Nov 27, 2024 · Onkyo's past issues with hdmi boards are not a "thing" anymore, so no need to worry about that. Anyway, both the RZ50 and A6A are excellent choices that would serve you well. If 4 ohm stability is a worry, now is the time to invest in a stereo OR multichannel amp.
