May 1, 2023 · The other builder I spoke to was almostheaven.net (this is Almost Heaven Group, separate from almostheaven.com which makes all the not-so-Trumpkin barrel saunas). Similar to Cedarbrook, they make cedar prefab kits, with some design/layout customization. They seemed open to making a kit with 8.5 ft ceilings as well!

Trumpkin's advice was sound! and definitely a game changer for me. Once my friends used it, they wanted one. I actually have two builds to do for friends now, since I have a break from work and kind of sauna obsessed lately.

I built a trumpkin style sauna outdoors. I get almost no stratification between footbench and sitting bench and the floor stays warm enough to not be an issue in the 10 seconds im on it before I get up on the benches.

Jun 14, 2022 · Finally, in most cases it’d be easier to modify a sauna based on Trumpkin’s Notes to be a conventional American sauna than the other way around. You can alway lower a ceiling and benches or cut a gap in the bottom of a door but it’s much much tougher to go the other way.

This subreddit seems to take those notes very seriously, but it is one guy's opinion, as far as I can tell, and it is mostly used to dissuade people from buying a sauna..
