Feb 20, 2023 · I have switched to macOS recently. The only thing that's disturbing me now is the missing the tilde sign (~). The closest thing I achieved to this sign is the accent tilde (˜). This accent tilde won't work with my current passwords. I'm using a U.S International PC keyboard layout. How do I make the tilde sign work on my Mac?

Dec 13, 2024 · I've narrowed the problem down to macOS is preferring the public DNS server 1.1.1.1 for all DNS queries except for oddly dig. Once I set the DNS to just the internal DNS server, things work fine. I wouldn't consider this a fix per se as I should be able to use an external DNS server should the internal one fail, but this addressed it.

Nov 23, 2024 · From the folder names in the path and from its content, the cryptex is holding PKI system root trusts. Without knowing in detail how it is used, this does seem to be a good use of the cryptex methodology in that a) it is signed so can't be tampered with, and b) can be updated by Apple without requiring a macOS update.
