Nov 18, 2023 · Honestly, the Auto Train is the best way to get yourself and your car to Florida. I'm from Massachusetts, and I've made this trip before when I've had to get myself, my car, and some large, awkward sporting equipment down south. All my stuff stayed in my car, and my carry-on and I went to a nice roomette.

Jan 10, 2023 · We decided to take the auto train from Lorton to Florida. We have been trapped on this train (with our child) for over 24 hours now, with a "projected" 7 more hours to go. Everyone on the train is getting increasingly upset, resentful, and desperate with no end in sight. Apparently one passenger has called the local cops, so far.

Nov 11, 2020 · Remembering Auto Train is a Superliner train, if one wants quiet for sure while in coach, the lower level would be the best place to sit in. Since you don't have people all the time crossing between cars, near your seat.

Jun 4, 2021 · My husband and I are moving from Florida to New Jersey soon and we are debating on driving up or taking the auto train to Virginia and driving the rest of the way. Covid still has me nervous about public transportation but it is a very long drive, longer than either of us have driven previously, so its a tough decision.

There are no passengers walking through the cars at odd hours of the night, and compared to the upper level having seats the entire length of the car, the lower level only seats about 20. Jun 30, 2022 · The carts/pieces went flying under the train - This caused metal parts (of the 2 shopping carts) to fly underneath the train ripping the the air brake lines to be damaged in various places and cars. The metal objects m pieces finally came to a halt right before the auto train section began when the train came to a complete stop.
