Donald Eugene Nehlen (born January 1, 1936) is an American former college football player and coach. He was head football coach at Bowling Green State University (1968–1976) and at West Virginia University (1980–2000). [ 1 ]

Donald Eugene Nehlen, West Virginia University football coach, was born in Canton, Ohio, January 1, 1936. He played high school football and lost only three games as a starting quarterback at Bowling Green State University.

Don Nehlen helped Bowling Green compile a 21-2-4 record as Falcons' quarterback, including a MAC title in 1956 and second place finishes in 1955 and 1957. He was a two-time, All-MAC second-team selection.
