Highland Dale was a horse, the star of Fury (1955) - a black stallion that only Joey could ride. He was entirely black except for a white star on his forehead.

A wild stallion is menacing all of the local ranches and freeing their horses. Neighbouring rancher Charlie Stevens thinks that Fury is to blame, but Joey has seen the white renegade stallion and must find it, because Charlie wants Fury dead for something he had no part in.

"The story of a horse, and the boy who loved him" was the narrative introduction to the show. Years before the Andy Griffith Show, Fury portrayed the relationship between a single father and his son. Fury even had its own version of Barney Fife in the character of Pete (the more than just) the hired hand played by William Fawcett.

Trottin' Horse: Directed by Earl Bellamy. With Peter Graves, Bobby Diamond, William Fawcett, Roger Mobley. Joey and Packy are helping out at the Eagles Nest Camp for underprivileged kids.

The Broken Wheel's mortgage holder wants to own Fury and convinces Joey to enter him into a winner-take-all horse race where Fury himself is the prize. An Irish hobo happens along and helps train Joey and Fury for their big race.

The Horse Coper: Directed by Nathan Juran. With Peter Graves, Bobby Diamond, William Fawcett, Parley Baer. Jim has to sell some horses or lose the ranch. Pigott, the horse coper (dealer) offers to buy Fury but Jim says he is nor for sale.

Wonder Horse: With Bobby Diamond, William Fawcett, Peter Graves, Gordon Jones. Joey, Pete, and Fury go to the carnival to see the Wonder Horse. Two of the carnival hands think they can make a lot of money with Fury so they steal him, but Joey catches them and saves Fury.
