The Kia Rio (Korean: 기아 리오) is a subcompact car manufactured by Kia from 1999 to 2023. Body styles have included a three and five-door hatchback and four-door sedan, equipped with inline-four gasoline and diesel engines, and front-wheel drive.

Introduced in 2016, the K2 platform is mainly utilized for B-segment and small C-segment vehicles. Wheelbase variations for this platform ranging between 2,500 mm (98.4 inches) and 2,760 mm (108.7 inches).

Measuring 4,370 mm (overall length) by 1,700 mm (overall width) by 1,460 mm (overall height), the Kia K2 is longer, wider and lower than the previous generation Rio and boasts the longest wheelbase (2,570 mm) in its class.

In China, the car is officially sold under the name Kia K2 Cross. The car has a front-wheel drive layout and is equipped with gasoline and diesel engines. The 1.0-liter Hyundai G3LE engine has been produced by the Korean concern only since 2020 and is installed on such popular models as i10, i20, Bayon, as well as Kia Rio, Ceed and Stonic.

For 2020, Kia gives the Rio more standard features and a new engine and transmission. Every model now has a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.
