History of Marazion
Many people think that Marazion has a connection with the Jewish community that was settled here. In fact, its name is derived from the important fairs and markets that were held here – the earliest recorded was in 1070. Marazion had two significant markets: Marghas Byghan (Small Market) and Marghas Yow or Jew (Thursday Market).

The sea is clean, shallow and safe with no nasty currents to catch you out, and in the summer - especially as the tide comes back in the water can be quite warm.

Penzance train station is next to the bus station and taxi rank for onward travel to Marazion which is only 3 miles away. Travelling by air. Newquay Airport is our closest airport and is about an hour away from Marazion.
