The name Pouya is an homage to her great grandfather, a French scientist that fell in love with Baja. Fernanda is making natural wines with no additions or corrections. While the wines are clear to the naked eye, they do not undergo filtration or stabilization.

You’ll taste/smell: Easy-drinking and fresh orange wine. It looks a bit cloudy with a tea-like texture, and light amber color. Aromas of orange blossom, camomile tea, and wild herbs. On the palate, it’s bone-dry with high acidity and crispy Asian pear flavor on the finish.

Pouya is a woman-owned and operated boutique winery founded by Fernanda Parra in 2017. The winery is located in El Sauzal, Baja, Mexico, at the Pacific Ocean end of Valle de Guadalupe. El Sauzal, just north of Ensenada, is less than 50 straight-line miles from the U.S. border.

Incredibly fragrant on the nose the wine displays with notes of white peach and nectarine along with white flowers such as honeysuckle and lily. On the palate the wine is delightful and fresh as it is fragrant with a crisp and bright backbone supporting a generous wealth of fruit. Only 67 cases made! Drinking window - Upon release - 3 years

A sparkling wine made in method champenoise with expressive notes of white flowers, citrus peel and fresh baguette on the nose. Fine bubbles overlay a crisp dry wine of refreshing acidity recalling Asian pear, green apple and lemon zest. It was only a few years ago that sparkling wine was hard to find in Northern Baja, much less a decent one.
