Mar 16, 2022 · So Ill start this off by saying a mess with cloud gaming a lot. I use moonlight, Parsec, steam link in the past, etc. Remote play on the Steam Deck is AWESOME! Seriously, its extremely responsive and looks great. I notice a little bit of compression artifacts, but with the small screen, its not distracting at all.

Mar 3, 2022 · Loving the steam deck so far but somewhat let down by remote play. Initial testing and they run great, negligible input lag and control all work as expected. Problem I'm having is because my host pc is 16:9, I can't run at the decks native resolution, which seems to be making text distorted and difficult to read.

But when I use my deck to launch a game from my PC I get audio, and the controls seem to link but my video stream is stuck on the spinning Steam Logo. Jan 5, 2024 · When you want to play again, send the wake on lan message and it will boot right back up, no password required and ready to play. Rarely when I do this the steam deck wont see the computer as an option for remote play, if you go into steam deck settings and quickly toggle remote play on and off it fixes it every time.

Mar 23, 2022 · I found that you can also connect with remote play in Steam OS' desktop mode and it basically acts like a remote desktop. So if you don't have a USB-C hub or just don't feel like connecting a KB/M, you can use this method to config things on the Deck much more easily then using the touchpads/touchscreen/virutal keyboard.

Apr 24, 2022 · Take a look at the remote play settings. On your main PC set the streaming resolution to close to the decks. I believe there is a check box stating "force resolution to match host device." Try with your streaming PCs monitor on. Mine was finicky with it off. Play with the quality settings. Youll need good wifi for remote play.

May 24, 2023 · As an alternative yes, but it shouldn't be necessary. Remote Play has genuinely worked out of the box between properly remote networks for a while now. In the streaming diagnostic overlay you can actually see text about the nature of the connection and there's quite a few different ways that Valve tries to do it.
