Have you ever looked up into your nose? I often see patients that thought they might have polyps or their doctor even thought they did. Everyone has these fleshy looking structures in each nostril called turbinates. There’s three on each side. They do have beneficial functions like humidifying and warming the air you breathe. However, they also can cause obstruction because they’re considered erectile tissue that swells in response to different triggers such as allergies, virus/bacteria, weather
